She suffered with anxiety so bad that she needed medication to help control it.
Nina knew she needed to end the marriage but her spouse had convinced her that she couldn’t make it on her on without him… so she continued to live in misery.
On the flipside, her own mindset kept her stuck in fear.
Nina had been adopted as a child and never felt like she belonged or that she was really wanted. She dwelled on these sabotaging beliefs of her biological mother not loving her by giving her up.
Because she was operating daily with unhealed childhood trauma wounds of feeling unloved and unwanted, unknowingly, this negative subconscious mindset spilled over into her adult life, causing her to go overboard with people pleasing.
Nina was now approaching 60 years of age, right smack in the middle of mid-life.
She didn’t want to grow old alone.
She struggled with the idea of staying in an unhappy marriage in order to not be alone, although she was lonely even WITH a spouse.
She didn’t have reliable family to turn to because she was the one THEY always depended on.
One day a light bulb went off.
She was so desperate to get out of her situation that she was willing to lose it all… money, house, AND husband. She had come to the end of her rope.
First she made the decision to file for divorce from the toxic marriage.
Next, she started focusing on healing herself.
During this time Nina had been following Erica on Facebook. She was getting daily doses of encouragement and inspiration from her posts.
Nina decided to reach out and contact her. Erica spoke with her and invited her to join her next virtual coaching course- 60 Days to Live Your Best Life.
Nina Felt Joining Couldn’t Hurt Her Broken State
Reasoning with herself that life couldn’t get any worse than it already was, Nina made the commitment to follow through with coaching for the next 60 days.
Surprisingly, she found safety and support in the company of other women also on their transformation journey.
They shared plenty of tears, prayers, laughs, and transformation achievements… together.
Nina no longer felt like she was alone in the fight to take back control of her life.
By the end of the 60 day course, Nina was motivated and encourage more than ever. She began living her life with purpose and intention.
She pushed through fear and uncertainty. She worked on herself daily with the transformation assignments.
With the help of Erica and the Confident and Free community, she faced healing those unhealed areas of her life.
She repeated affirmations to build self-love, self-esteem and courage.
She even gathered the courage to take a trip that she had always dreamed of taking but didn’t, because her spouse would always find a way to dismiss her idea.
Today, Nina is more confident and free to be herself. She has learned to accept and love herself and not seek validation from others.
She’s living life according to her terms- not someone else’s.
Nina no longer lives with guilt, shame, and paralyzing fear of not being wanted or accepted.
